About Us

My wife and I, (Christine and Jason), are both recently retired professional chefs and culinary instructors. We were drawn to the craft because of two things, an absolute love affair with food and all things about it, and the all consuming passion for sharing it with others. This blog is our declaration to the world that we are not ever going to end that love affair, or lose that passion.
Christine is an avid gardener practically obsessed with growing seasonal food and plants. She has had a long career in the kitchen, starting in Manhattan, New York, working on the line at some of the top tables in the country. Upon re-locating to Colorado, she has been the executive chef of multiple restaurants, and the pastry chef at the hotel we both worked in together for nine years, (see the above photo), Her contributions to the page and our culinary "ecosystem" are inspiring and beautiful, being focused on photography, baking, and seasonal food culture.
I have spent my entire adult life in the food industry, starting at 15 as a dishwasher. Moving my way up through the ranks in the "school of hard knocks", I worked around the gulf coast of the country, (St. Petersburg, Florida, New Orleans and Lafayette, Louisiana, Austin, Texas) rising to the rank of executive chef, while learning from and working for some of the best chefs in the world, and eventually finding myself in Colorado, very much in love with the place, and my beautiful wife. In addition to my love of food in general, I have special interests in foraging for wild mushrooms, beer and fermentation in general. I've gathered many stories in my time, and am looking forward to sharing these with you.
Where We Are

We are located in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the base of Pikes Peak, America's mountain. We both treasure our city and home, and the growing and rich food culture here. We are proud to be a part of it, and look forward to sharing it with all of you!
